Privacy policy
Jehaad Aljohani operates Athon. This notice describes the personal information Athon handles when you browse, create an account, organize or join a hackathon, or use the mobile apps.
On this page
1. Information we collect
We receive account details such as name, email address and profile photo from your sign-in provider. You may add a biography, skills and links. Hackathon activity can include registration answers, team details, messages, documents, files, submissions, scores, check-in status and support requests. We also process technical information needed for sessions, security and push notifications, such as device push tokens.
2. How we use it
We use information to sign you in, run the hackathons you create or join, enforce roles and permissions, deliver messages and notifications, process subscriptions, prevent abuse, answer support requests and improve reliability. We do not sell personal information for advertising or use third-party advertising trackers in the apps.
3. Who can see your information
Your profile and contributions may be visible to members of the hackathons you join according to their roles and page settings. Organizers and authorized staff can see applications, form answers, attendance and judging data needed to run their events. An organizer may choose to publish event pages, participant lists, submitted projects or winners to the public. Check an event's visibility before sharing sensitive material.
4. Service providers
Clerk handles sign-in, Convex hosts application data and real-time features, Polar processes paid plans, Resend delivers email, and Expo supports mobile push delivery. These providers receive only the information needed for their services. Organizers may separately use information collected through their events under their own notices. Data can be processed in countries where these providers operate.
5. Your choices
You can edit your profile and notification preferences in Settings. You may leave a hackathon or request deletion of your Athon account there. You can disable push notifications in your device settings. Contact support@athon.studio to request access, correction or removal of personal information that you cannot manage in the app.
6. Retention and deletion
We keep information while it is needed to operate an account or hackathon and for legitimate security, billing or legal needs. Account deletion removes the sign-in identity and starts deletion of linked Athon records. Content shared with a hackathon may also exist in copies held by organizers or other participants; contact us about material that remains visible after deletion. We will explain any record we must retain by law.
7. Security
We use access controls and service providers to protect data, but no online service can guarantee absolute security. Tell us promptly if you believe your account or event data has been exposed.
8. Updates and contact
We may update this notice as Athon's features or providers change. The latest version will be available at athon.studio/privacy. For privacy questions or requests, email support@athon.studio.
